Speaking to congress.....It's not about helping banks... it's about helping people, people who need credit. American families will see their retirement make headway once more and our economy will recover.
Reform our regulatory system. Not pay for CEO perks and bonuses.
Energy... We are fallling behind. It is time for America to lead again. Double energy in 3 years. Medicine, Technology, Energy, Power Lines... efficient homes. Clean and renewable energy... cap on bad energy production. Develop technology for solar power, wind power, clean coal...etc. Automobile technology improvements.
Health Care... costs many people bankruptcy, loss of homes! No longer afford to put health care reform on hold. It is time. Provide 11 million American parents insurance to families who work full time. Electronic health records.... Concor and cure cancer in our time. Preventive care! We must have quality health care for every American. This will be a difficult process. But it has to be done. It cannot wait, it must not wait, and it will not wait another year!
Education.... Expand the promise of education in America. No longer a pathway ... it is a pre-requisite. Stop highschool drop outs. More than half of all American's cannot afford to go to College. All children will have an education from the day they are born to the time the are hired in a career. First years of life.... important to educate. Our schools need more reform. New incentives for teacher ... high standards, expand commitment to charter schools. Every American commit to one year of training beyond High School. Dropping out is not an option. It is dropping out on your country... we need every American to succeed in education. We will provide support for all American's to complete college. 2020 highest number of college grads in the world. The price of tuition can be lowered if you volunteer in your community. Orrin Hatch, Edward Kennedy in charge of reform. Open the doors of education for our children. A parent must support, attend school meetings, read to your child... responsibility for our children begins at home!
Budget COST... Do not pass on to them a debt they cannot pay (LOTS OF APPLAUSE)... I know we can get some consensess in here. We do what it takes to bring this deficit down. Cut the dficit in 1/2 before his office ends. Billions wasted in Iraq. Reform our defense expenses... Waist fraud and abuse in our elderly care. Stop sending our jobs overseas. End the tax breaks for the wealthiest 2/3 of our nation. Households who earn 250,000 less you will not see your taxes increase a single dime. You will see a tax cut for 95% of families... and the checks are on the way! Growing cost in medicare and social security. Comprehensive security needs to be addressed for all Americans.
TRUST...Deficit of trust... accountability will be inforced. No longer will the cost of war be hidden it will be disclosed. Leave Iraq to its people and ends the war responsibly. To those in our war... we are united in honoring your service and sacrifice. You have our unyielding support. Raise their pay. Benefits for Veterans. Uphold the values our truths fight for. Justice for captured justice. Living our values makes us safer and stronger. The United States of America does not toture. We can make that clear tonight. We are showing that a new America is here. We cannot shun the negotiation table with the world... seek progress towards security and peace. Strengthen alliances. The world depends on us, and we depend on the world. Eyes of the world are on us watching how we will work through these issues for good.
Hope is found in unlikely places... comes from the dreams of American people who are not ordinary. Gave all 399 employees and 90 past employees a large sum of his financial moneys....I've known some of these people since I was 7 years old. It didn't feel right getting it all for myself. Young girl typed a letter asking for help to rebuild her school. We want to become somebody. We want to change the world. We are not quiters. There is a generosity and a determination that perseveres among us. We must show them that we are equal to the task before us. Every American loves this country and wants it to succeed. That must be the starting point and the returning point at every meeting we have to build America. America does not quick. This is the time we will perform and we will be worthy ... God bless America.
COMMENTARY.... Objective: trying not to raise false expecations.... giving hope there is a way out of this. It is bitter medicine that will take to get us through this. The economy has not bottomed out yet.
MY THOUGHTS.... My prayers are with us. I hope we feel the impact, and my kids and grandchildren are blessed. Let us all work toward PEACE.
